'We just completed a week of camp counselor training. Next Page is the theme of each of our summer camps. Next Page is simply helping Korean teenagers learn to trust God for their future. It was encouraging to see God at work answering the prayers of our counselors and camp staff. One guy's English name is Stone. Ironically my Korean name also means rock or stone. Stone came to Christ only a few months ago in the church we are part of in our town. The first day of class he shared how that he was a baby Christian and didn't know how to pray, I shared with him how refreshing it was to have him in the class especially since he hadn't been around a bunch of religious people in the past where he learned the catch phrases that some times we older Christian use when we pray but that he was real and when he prayed he simply talked to God.
We are trusting the Lord that the staff will all be on one page, God's page, as we begin a week of English camp next week for teens from around the peninsula followed by Unity camps for Korean church youth groups.
Besides counselors and camp staff there are 8 American volunteers teachers to be a part of this first week of camp. We appreciate your prayers for them as they travel on Monday and are due to arrive in Korea on Tuesday. We then have two-days of teacher training happening before camp kicks off. For this camp we use the acrostic for Next Page to share with the students each evening on the following topics: No hope, Eternal hope, eXtreme faith, Together 4 the gospel, Purity, All 4 God, and English in action on the closing day when the students share a drama and testimonies with their parents.
We appreciate your prayers for receptive hearts and for God to be glorified through these camps.
